Strong Financial Outlook

Kansas City Life is proud to maintain strong ratings from several independent rating agencies. While these rating agencies make no recommendations, the definitions of the ratings show a stable forecast for the Kansas City Life Group of Companies.

A.M. Best Company — A (Excellent)

Rating is based on Kansas City Life’s relative financial strength and operating performance. According to Best, “A (Excellent) is assigned to companies which, in our opinion, have demonstrated excellent overall performance when compared to the standards established by A.M. Best Company. A (Excellent) companies have a strong ability to meet their obligations to policyowners over a long period of time.” Ratings range from A++ ( Superior) to F (in Liquidation).

Standard and Poor’s — A (Strong)

Standard and Poor’s financial strength ratings represent Standard and Poor’s opinion of the financial security characteristics of an insurance organization. This opinion is with respect to the organization’s ability to pay under its insurance policies and contracts, in accordance with their terms. As of February 2008.

S&P’s 18 ratings range from AAA (Superior) to BBB (Adequate).
